| Job Description: |
Perform accounting research and due diligence functions for structured, non-standard commodity and commodity-related contracts related to energy business activities, with a focus on SFAS 133 (derivatives) and SFAS 13 and EITF 01-8 (leases). Energy business activities include its origination and trading groups, power plant development and acquisition groups and asset restructuring groups. • Develop and maintain working knowledge of SFAS 133 and related accounting pronouncements, such as: SFAS 157, 13 and EITF 01-8, 03-11, 91-6 • Read and understand structured, non-standard commodity and commodity-related contracts, with a focus on SFAS 133 (derivatives) and SFAS 13 and EITF 01-8 (leases), related to energy business activities • Prepare and maintain written documentation • Identify and communicate potential accounting issues in contracts • Assist in determining appropriate derivative accounting treatment for contracts • Communicate with deal personnel, internal accounting personnel and auditors • Manage multiple projects • Perform additional due diligence and research projects, as needed • Assist in documenting accounting policies |

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
• 3-6 years accounting experience at a Big Four accounting firm • Willingness and aptitude for reading and understanding structured commodity contracts • Willingness and aptitude for reading technical accounting guidance • Willingness and aptitude for learning energy business • Ability to work in fast-paced, time-sensitive environment • Ability to manage multiple tasks • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and also within team environment • Strong self-motivation and sense of ownership and responsibility |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
• Knowledge of and experience with SFAS 133, 13, 157, and EITF 01-8, 03-11, 91-6 • Experience in the energy industry or the financial industry |
