Location: CT-Hartford   West Hartford, CT
Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT)
Salary Range: $100,000 to $150,000 DOE plus excellent benefits and incentives.
Bonus & Incentives: $100,000 to $150,000 DOE plus excellent benefits and incentives.
Position Responsibilities: Healthy, global B2B seeks future Tax Manager/Director and is prepared to groom and invest in talent with upside potential. This is a hands-on state tax role requiring direct communications across all segments of a global business and with external Big 4 CPA firm. OPPORTUNITY: Report to outstanding talented senior leader and interface across all divisions/subsidiaries. Play a lead role gathering data, establishing contacts and monitoring State restructuring project. Assist in gathering information for the R&D credit project. Responsible for state audits, including scheduling, gathering of data, discussions with the state auditors on specific issues, and final conclusion and agreement. Prepare letters of protest for the items that are un-agreed with the auditor. Assist in gathering information for federal audit. Work with IRS auditors in connection with specific issues assigned. Interface with divisions/subsidiaries for documentation and resolution of federal, state and foreign tax issues. Preparation and review of year-end tax accrual including the federal, state and foreign tax provisions of legal entities. Includes the review and preparation of deferred tax balances and detail components along with the other related tax balance sheet accounts. Preparation of federal and state income tax returns for U.S. entities. Document and research of federal and state issues, and integrate newly acquired subsidiaries. Prepare federal and state income tax quarterly estimates and extensions. Assist all Tax Managers and VP of Tax on various projects, including research and planning of specific issues, Sarbanes-Oxley (404) and FIN 48 compliance. Will train high quality tax professional with FAS109 expertise to support state area.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CPA or MS Tax a plus
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: BS required, CPA or MS Tax a decided plus. 2+ years experience overall in Big 4 accounting firm or combination of Big 4 and private industry with at least 2-4 years concentrated in tax and compliance experience with Subchapter C Corporations. Experience in international compliance/planning and IRS audits a plus. Any experience with I.T. software (i.e. Vertex, FastTax, or CorpTax, Excel, Word, CCH Tax Research Network, TaxStream) a plus.
