| Position Responsibilities: |
The IT Senior Auditor position coordinates and conducts on-site internal audits including mainframe reviews; access control reviews; database reviews; and evaluates financial, custodial, control, information technology and operating systems. This position also applies basic audit processes and audit testing principles which includes sampling, audit test execution, and documentation of evidence and results, and will also identify and determine the cause of errors and irregularities and their impact on the overall effectiveness of the system of controls and record accuracy. This position applies audit business analysis methodologies which includes review and/or conducting business process flows, technical assessments, and financial analysis, and identifies risk factors using risk management concepts and control identification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Participates in and/or completes audit projects across multiple lines of business, on projects of moderate complexity and potentially in conjunction with non-technology auditors
• Provides guidance to newer audit staff to increase proficiency
• Assesses risk and control for audit engagements, and informs management of situational issues that may compromise objectivity or independence
• Researches and identifies compensating controls that may mitigate audit findings
• Leads small audit projects
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of:
• Audit principles, practices and methodologies
• Accounting and finance principles and practices
• Operational and technical environments of banking businesses
• Body of regulations and laws that apply to the banking and finance business
• Audit policies that govern objectivity and independence
• PMLC/SDLC management methodology
• IT general controls, application controls and end-user computing controls and corresponding risks
• Proficient in one or more of the following areas
• Operating systems (OS/390, Windows, midrange or Unix/Linux,) related subsystems, databases and security (e.g. Oracle, SQL, DB2, CICS, CA-7, CA-11, Channel Secure, Active Directory, External Security Management systems, etc)
• Network architecture and web server environments (firewalls, protocols, network devices, WebSphere, etc)
• Application architecture
Skill requirements:
• Ability to objectively and independently complete audit projects, and evaluate audit findings in multiple business lines
• Self-starter and ability to effectively participate in a team setting; contribute to the advancement of and provide direction to less experienced staff; promote on-going relationships with client and peers
• Ability to lead small audits of low to medium risk and complexity, identify audit issues, and provide appropriate solutions
• Ability to assess the adequacy of requirements, security plans, data conversion and test plans
• Ability to use audit techniques to interrogate system controls, key sub-systems or tools, and ability to navigate proficiently within technology
• Contribute to positive working environment through making sound business decisions, constructive problem-solving, effective communications and mutual respect
• Demonstrate the ability to apply project management methodologies
• Understand and provide support for the Audit objectives and provide constructive ways to improve existing practices
• Strong written and oral communications skills

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
• 1-4+ years of related experience

| Preferred Qualifications: |
Professional certification as a CPA, *CPA, CIA or CISA is highly preferred, and will be required within 18 months of hire. |
