Job 8983: Senior Director – Tax Operations

Location: NJ-Other  
Mid-Atlantic (DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV)
Salary Range: 175,000 to 225,000
Bonus & Incentives: 30% targeted bonus on base
Position Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of the Companies’ income tax provision and U.S. income tax compliance, including: 1. All aspects of the SEC compliant global provision for income taxes for the U.S. based parent company, 25+ consolidated foreign subsidiaries and branches, and 30+ franchisees. 2. All U.S. federal and state income tax compliance. 3. All U.S. federal and state and local income tax audits. 4. All SOX related items for the above. The senior director will have primary responsibility for taking our external audit firm through the provision and ensuring that all GAAP audit related items are resolved in a timely manner. This person will work with the director of tax planning and outside advisors in the development and implementation of U.S. federal and state and local income tax planning, as well as in the resolution of income tax and tax accounting technical issues. The senior director will have three direct reports (directors of tax accounting, federal tax and state and local tax) as well as 11 indirect reports (14 direct and indirect reports). This position will report to the VP of Taxes. In addition to being able to work with all members of the tax department, key working relationships within the company include: accounting and consolidations group; external reporting group; and human resources.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Masters, CAP
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: • Significant experience preparing and reviewing SEC compliant income tax provisions for multi-national companies. • Significant experience with reviewing US income tax compliance (federal and state) for multi-national companies. • 10 years of experience working with multi-national companies, with a minimum of 3 years in public accounting. • Strong supervisory experience dealing with motivated and highly skilled tax professionals • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities • Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills • Strong interpersonal skills (i.e.: to relate to representatives from Company senior management, Big 4 audit/tax partners and senior auditors from the IRS and other tax authorities) • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of TaxStream and CorpTax software a plus
