| Position Responsibilities: |
Senior Tax Manager opportunity with a large multinational petrochemical company in the Houston area focused on providing growth, opportunity and development for their employees. Supervising a staff of 10, including a manager and supervisor you will be primarily responsible for overall leadership for all federal income tax compliance and tax accounting matters for U.S. operations and related ventures.
The purpose of the position is the effective use of tax compliance resources with the objectives of :
**Timely filing of all tax returns and reports in compliance with all applicable tax statutes, regulations, and procedures;
**Development of tax accounting reporting and planning procedures in response to tax legislative/regulatory policy;
**Development of tax data/accounting procedures for internal use
**Administrative support and documentation for federal income tax audits
**Coordination and review of federal income tax provision and quarterly disclosures under FAS 109 and FIN 48 as well as IFRS
**Preparation and coordination of effective tax rate and cash tax forecasts.
Qualifications required:
**Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Other advanced degrees in taxation or certificates (JD-Law; Masters of Tax; CPA) are desirable.
**CPA required
** Minimum of fifteen years experience in federal, state, and local taxation, including significant compliance, tax accounting and analysis experience.
** Excellent interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, managerial and leadership skills.
** In-depth knowledge of personal computers and tax-viable software and systems applications. Experience with SAP and Corptax databases a plus.
**Strong working knowledge of partnership taxation principles.
** Strong financial accounting skills.
