Job 9133: Assistant Controller, External Reporting

Location: IL-Chicago  
Lower Midwest (IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MO, NE & OH)
Salary Range: 120,000-$170,000 + Bonus up to 20%
Bonus & Incentives:
Position Responsibilities: Position is responsible for the external financial reporting for company division, and serves as the lead technical accounting resource for the Company while establishing, maintaining and enforcing all accounting policies and procedures. Specific responsibilities include: • All financial related SEC reporting and coordination of financial statement and disclosure reviews with the Legal Department and external auditors. • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, US GAAP standards and internal financial reporting requirements. • Lead the Technical Accounting Network in the interpretation of GAAP guidelines and SEC pronouncements to determine the implication on internal accounting policy, financial reporting matters, and technical documentation of specific issues. • Lead the Business Control Function in the oversight of internal controls, SOX 404 requirements and management of outsourced internal audit services. • Interact with senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on SEC filings, critical technical accounting matters and internal controls.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CPA required
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelors degree required • CPA required. Big 4 audit firm experience is highly desired. • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of a successful accounting function in a medium to large global corporate setting. • Significant SEC filing experience and deep knowledge of the SEC reporting process and current accounting standards.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA preferred. • Demonstrated ability to build teams, delegate significant responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable. • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills are required. • Highly articulate, makes arguments in a compelling manner and comes to the point. • Sets compelling goals and aggressive plans for improvement while remaining flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
