| Job Description: |
The Manager, State Income Taxes will manage the income and franchise tax planning and strategy for the company; participate in the FAS 109 and FIN48 processes; and assist the Manager, Tax Compliance with planning, preparation, and review of all state and local income and franchise returns and estimated payments. The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong working knowledge of state income and franchise tax principles.
• Assist Senior Director, Tax Administration in development and implementation of integrated, efficient tax policies, practices and plans
• Advise senior management on the state tax effects of business transactions
• Assist Director, Tax Reporting with calculation and/or review of complex state tax issues for FAS 109 and FIN48 purposes
• Develop state income tax compliance policies and procedures and review state tax returns and estimated payments
• Assist Senior Manager, State Tax Audits with state tax audit issues and appeals
• Provide direction and training to the Senior Tax and Tax Analyst positions on state tax compliance matters and other special projects as necessary
• Assist with special state tax projects as needed

| Education and Certifications/Licenses: |
Bachelors, None, None |
| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
• BS or BBA in Accounting or Finance
• CPA (required)
• Masters of Accounting/Tax (preferred)
• 5-8 years experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or large public company tax department
• Significant in-depth knowledge of separate and unitary state income tax laws and principles
• Working knowledge of CorpTax or other equivalent compliance software
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent with RIA Tax Research or equivalent software
